Drug Name Serevent (salmeterol)
Drug UsesIt can also be used for other conditions determined by your doctor. It can be used for long-term treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It can be used to prevent breathing problems in some patients, including patients with nocturnal asthma caused by difficulty in breathing or movement. Serevent Diskus is used long-term treatment of asthma.

Warnings/Precautions

- If you have allergies to medicines, foods or other substances

- If you have a history of liver, diabetes, heart problems (eg, fast or irregular heartbeat, heart blood vessel disease), hypertension, low potassium levels, seizures, adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma) or thyroid sverhaktivna
- If you have recently had asthma in the emergency room, have a history of asthma or more frequent hospitalization, or was life-threatening asthma attack
- If you have a case of unusual reaction to drugs (such as albuterol, pseudoephedrine), such as fast or irregular heartbeat, excitement, or severe sleep problems
- If you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (IMAO) (eg fenelzin) or tricyclic antidepressants (such as amitryptylin), or if you have any of these drugs in the past 14 days
Some drugs can and Serevent Diskus. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
- Azole antifungal agents (such as ketoconazole), HIV protease inhibitors (such as ritonavir), macrolide antibiotics (eg clarithromycin), nefazodon or telitromitsyn because the risk of rapid or irregular heartbeat may increase
- Diuretics (such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide) because the risk of low blood potassium or irregular heartbeat may increase
- Catechol - O - methyltransferase (Comte) inhibitors (such as entakaponu), long-term β-receptor agonists (such as flutykazon / salmeterol, Fumoteluo), MAO inhibitors (such as fenelzin) or tricyclic antidepressants (such as amitryptylin), so that they can increase the risk of exposure to Serevent Diskus "side
