Although furosemide water treatment is very important to too many patients with cirrhosis, sudden loss of fluid and electrolytes will increase the renal function in these patients, and even lead patients into a coma.
Serum uric acid levels can increase in furosemide treatment, but precipitation of acute gout is rare. Regular blood tests to monitor renal function and electrolytes during treatment with furosemide. Furosemide may cause blood turbidity of potassium, sodium, magnesium and level. Potassium, low magnesium levels can lead to arrhythmias, especially in patients already taking digoxin (Lanoxin). Furosemide may increase the toxicity of aminoglycoside antibiotics in the ear, especially in patients with renal impairment. Furosemide may impair kidney function was admitted to hospital as well as with aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Please visit the digoxin (Lanoxin) site for more information. Furosemide reduces the kidney allocation of lithium, and may lead to lithium toxicity.
