Caduet (amlodipine and atorvastatin)

Caduet for adults and children who are at least 10 years. It lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the blood, while increasing the levels of good cholesterol (HDL).

Caduet can also be used for other purposes not listed here. Coenzyme A inhibitor, atorvastatin, or statins. Caduet contains amlodipine and atorvastatin combination.

Caduet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or chest pain (angina) and reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack and other heart complications in people with type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease or other risk factors.

Tell your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing tablets. See your doctor regularly. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

You may have to stop using Caduet in a very short period of time, if you have:

• Uncontrolled seizures;
• Electrolyte imbalance (such as high or low levels of potassium in the blood);
• Severe hypotension;
• Serious infection or disease, or
• Surgery or medical emergency.
  
  Do not break the pill Caduet. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get better results.
  
  Caduet is usually taken once a day, with or without food. Follow the instructions on the label requirements. Hypertension usually has no symptoms. Exactly the same doctor to Caduet. Medication at the same time every day. Your liver function may also be tested.
  
  Caduet is the only part of the comprehensive treatment program, including diet, exercise and weight control. If you are receiving the treatment of hypertension, continued use of this treatment, even if you feel beautiful. Not to make any amount, large or small, or for longer than recommended.
  
  Caduet you may need long-term treatment of hypercholesterolemia. According to your diet, medication, exercise too close.

You should not use Caduet if you are allergic to amlodipine (Norvask) and atorvastatin (Lipitor), if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver disease. Amlodipine and atorvastatin can enter breast milk and may harm the baby. Other drugs may increase the risk of serious muscle problems, it is very important that your doctor know if you use any of them:

• Cyclosporine (Gengraf, mountain tomorrow, Sandimmune);
• hemfibrozyl (Lopid), fenofibroyevoyi acid (Fibricor, TriLipix), or fenofibrate (Antara, Fenoglide, Lipofen, Lofibra, Tricor, Triglide);
• Antibiotics such as clarithromycin (Biaxin) or erythromycin (EES, EryPed, erythromycin, tabs, erythromycin);
• Antimicrobial drugs such as fluconazole (Dyflyukan), itraconazole (Sporanox) or ketoconazole (Extina, Ketozole, Nizoral, Xolegal);
• HIV medicines such as ritonavir (Norvir), lopinavir / ritonavir (Kaletra's), sakvinavir (Invirase), and others;
• Drugs containing niacin (Advicor, Niaspan, Niacor, Simcor, Slovakia, nicotinic acid, etc.).
  
  Tell your doctor of all other drug use. Do not Caduet, if you are pregnant.

• History of liver disease;
• History of kidney disease;
• Heart disease;
• Diabetes;
• Thyroid, or
• If you drink alcoholic beverages more than 2 days. Do not breast-feeding while you are taking Caduet.
